Q:  How exactly does the Building Horizons Construction technology program work? 
A:  Building Horizons works in conjunction with Riverside County Office of Education Regional Occupational Program (ROP) http://www.rcoe.k12.ca.us/studentPrograms/careerTech.html and the local cities of Coachella Valley, as well as the local high schools in order to educate our valley’s youth and provide affordable housing.  Working primarily with high school students Building Horizons builds two homes a year, which are then sold to low to moderate income families.  We are providing hands-on vocational training to our young people while providing the community with affordable housing.

Q:  How old do students have to be to enroll in the Building Horizons program?
A:   Students have to be at least 16 years old or a junior in high school.

Q:  Can a student take the class more than one year?
A:  Yes.

Q:  Does Building Horizons provide job placement assistance upon graduation?
A:  We work with our trade partners in the area to attempt to place students in jobs that suit their individual talents and abilities.

Q:  What does it cost for a student to participate in the Building Horizons program?
A:  There is no cost to participate.
